The International Primary Curriculum

A Year 6 Science Lesson

The International Primary Curriculum

Clifton with Rawcliffe follows The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) from the beginning of Key Stage 1 (Year 1) to the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6). It encompasses all of the foundation subjects and is covers all of the statutory elements of the National Curriculum.

An overview of the themes studied at each school stage is provided below. We follow a two year cycle in each phase to ensure that any pupils in mixed year classes do not either, cover the work twice or miss out on vital areas of learning.

The IPC is designed to help pupils learn the essential knowledge and skills relevant for life in the 21st century. Each area of study is exciting, practical and motivating. As each theme is about to begin you will be sent detailed advice on activities for home which will help you support and enhance your child's studies.
